Contact Reports: New Feature to Monitor Subscriber Engagement

It’s very important to know who your audience is and how engaged they are. By using the new contact reports feature in Mailigen, you can pinpoint how engaged your subscribers are within each email list and analyze individual contact profiles.

Previously, you were able to analyze all your subscriber activity within a certain time period using segmentation, or by using a certain email campaign’s reports. Now you can receive in-depth statistics about each email list separately.

So what exactly can you see in the new contact reports and how do you use them?

Follow email list statistics

You can quickly sort your email lists under the Contacts tab. Arrange your email lists by the date of their creation or by the number of contacts included in them. Then view reports of each individual email list.

In the new reports, you will see the most important statistics about your email list:

  • average open rate
  • average click though rate
  • growth rate
  • bounce rate
  • subscriber engagement rate

You will also see how many contacts are:

  • inactive
  • deleted
  • unsubscribed
  • contain SMS numbers

All this information allows you to analyze your current email marketing performance with a specific audience and will assist you in developing further steps to improve it.

See the list growth chart

Contact reports allow you to follow your email list growth by:

  • days
  • weeks
  • months

Here you will also see:

  • how many contacts of the total amount are a result of sign-up forms
  • how many have been imported into the list

The progress of your email list will let you know in advance if additional activities are needed in order to further grow your email list.

Get to know geographic locations, email clients & device usage

You already benefit from device, email client and geographic location information in your campaign reports. Now, the same information is available in contact reports for your entire email list.

Use this useful data to find out:

  • from which countries people subscribe to your list
  • if recipients read your emails on mobile devices
  • what are the most popular email clients among users

Use location data to segment your audience and choose the right sending time for your emails. Mobile data will help you to decide what kind of templates to create for your emails.

Analyze contact profiles

Click on any individual contact profile to see in-depth information about your subscribers. Analyze individual subscribers to get an overview of the entire audience.

Each profile contains the following contact details:

  • email address

  • last name
  • all other information depending on the contact fields

Next to the contact details you will find activity details:

  • if the subscriber is active or inactive
  • subscription day and subscription IP
  • if the subscriber was imported or came from a sign-up form
  • geographical location of the subscriber
  • number of received emails, including the last campaign
  • open rate and number of clicks made by the subscriber

This will help you to evaluate the engagement level of your subscribers and think about additional activities for increasing it.

View activity history

Here you will see a long list of all the activities committed by the subscriber since their subscription day:

  • campaign opens, followed by a link to the campaign statistics
  • clicks on links, buttons and shares within campaigns

This precise data will allow you to analyze subscriber performance within specific campaigns, create segments according to clicks and create appropriate follow-ups.

Add notes to individual subscribers

The new contact profiles enable adding notes to each individual subscriber. For example, you can add details about your communication by phone, Skype, at store or by using another offline method in order keep track of client related information and activities.

Effective and successful email marketing management is about two-way communication. Your subscribers ‘respond’ to you by opening your campaigns, by clicking on links and by converting to customers. You should also ‘listen’ to your recipients and ‘respond’ accordingly, by sending relevant content to the right audience at the right time and in the right format.

The more you know about your subscribers’ activities, habits and interests, the better and more targeted email campaigns you can send them. Use the benefits provided by the new contact reports to gain in-depth knowledge of your audience, which will further assist you in building an improved strategy.
